Greetings PreK-4 Parents,

My name is Renee Waisner, but everyone knows me as Ms. W. I originally came to St. Pius in October 2021 as a temporary, contract teacher working with Pre-K 4 for two years until June 2023. I was excited and blessed to return to St. Pius X in January 2024 to finish out the school year working with students in kindergarten, several of whom I worked with previously in Pre-K 4.

I began my career in education in 1999 working for Calallen ISD in Corpus Christi for eight years as a teacher aide and Assistant Librarian. I then returned to college to earn a Bachelor’s degree with certifications in Early Childhood through 6th grade and Special Education K-12. I taught in Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD for 7 years - Kindergarten and then Special Education (K-4th). I retired from public school in May 2020. Thereafter, I worked as a contract teacher, home-schooling for a year during Covid. I was then blessed to be placed at St. Pius X to work with Pre-K 4.

I have two grown children, a daughter and a son, both in their mid-30s. My daughter and son-in-law have two children – an 11-year-old girl and a 6-year-old boy. Being a grandmother is just the best of both worlds!

Students will learn a great deal through play, exploration centers, direct teach, music, technology, and art. I look forward to working with you as we support each other to educate and nurture our students to be strong in faith and kind-hearted Leaders for Christ. I truly believe, “It takes a village to raise a child.”
